The Howard Hughes Award at annual Forum 63 Awards, 2007, won by the Army/ Navy/ Bell Quad Tilt Rotor Aeroelastic Test Team. This team completed the first tests of a powered quad-tilt rotor model in the NASA Langley Transonic Dynamics Tunnel and extended the knowledge of the aerodynamic interference effects of the quad-tilt rotor configuration. Accepting the award are Jeffrey D. Singleton; Aerospace Engineer, US Army Research Laboratory; David Piatak, NASA Research Engineer, and Tom Wood, Bell Helicopter, Team Leader and Director, Preliminary Design.
