The Captain William J. Kossler USCG Award recipients this year were the crew members of the Air National Guard's 106th Rescue Group which flew a 14 1/2 hour mission, requiring ten night aerial refuelings in 60 mph winds and driving snow. They recovered the lone survivor from the sunken Salvador Allende more than 70 miles from where the boat sank. Thomas Snyder reads the dramatic account of the rescue as the recipients including Lt.
