The Howard Hughes Award this year won by the Japan OHX Engineering Team. The OH-X, an advanced aircraft by any standards, is believed to be the first helicopter woholly developed by an Asian country based solely on indigenous technologies. Accepting the award was Dr. Masahiro Yasue, Japan Defense Agency; Colonel Hitoshi Hirano; and Shun-Ichi Bandoh, Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
