
As an aeronautical engineer, McKenna served in various management positions at Sikorsky. He joined the UAC division in 1965as an administrative engineer and was named a vice president in 1966. In 1960 McKenna became vice president of Air Transportation Systems, with responsibilities for marketing, manufacturing, and engineering. In 1972, he became the executive vice president at Sikorsky.
