The Society’s Captain William J. Kossler, US Coast Guard, Award is given for the greatest achievement in the practical application or operation of vertical flight aircraft, the value of which has been demonstrated by actual service during the preceding 18 months. The 2018 Kossler Award was being presented to the crew of Detachment 1, Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 169th Aviation Regiment, General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB), Georgia National Guard supporting hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, represented by CW4 Mark Morris, Pilot in Command.
