Ralph B. Lightfoot, while at Sikorsky Aircraft, conducted all phases of research, design and development of Sikorsky helicopters. Lightfoot was an Honorary Fellow and a charter member of AHS, was its fifth president, and served the Society in many other capacities. He also held Fellowships in the RAeS and New York Academy of Sciences. He studied at NYU under Alexander Klemin and between 1947-1969 was granted six patents. From Vertiflite, May/June 1974
