The Grover Bell Award was awarded to Bell Award to US Army, NASA, Bell Helicopter Textron XV-15 Project Team in recognition to its outstanding achievement in successfully demonstrating the feasibility and potential of tilt rotor technology.  This highly successful program has been an achievement of innovative management and engineering and a model of cooperation between government and contractor representatives in all the various testing activities. The award was accepted by Dean C. Borgman, Director of Advanced Systems at AVRADCOM, David D. Few- Assistant Chief of the NASA, and Kenneth G. Wernicke- Technical Manager for the XV-15 at Bell Helicopter Textron.
