
The Frederick L. Feinberg Award went to Lt. Col. Francis M. Carney for the outstanding general high level of performance in operational flying in the preceding calendar year. Col. Carney commanding the 3638th Flying Training Squadron (Hcptr) at Stead Air Force Base, Nev., set 4 new world records last fall flying a Kaman H-43B. He established an official altitude record of 32,840 ft. and also set 3 new time-of-climb records.
