This photo was taken by Erasmo Piñero. The Bell XV-3 was a rotorcraft pioneer and the first practical tilt-rotor aircraft representing the beginning a of a new way to fly. The nacelle containing mechanical components, gears, engines, rotor masts, etc. is key to the tilt-rotor's ability to convert.
