"THE BRISTOL SYCAMORE"
"This picture shows a Bristol Sycamore in the house livery of Bristol Aircraft Limited.
A 4-5 seat helicopter, the Sycamore is powered by an Alvis Leonides engine of 520 bhp.
One of the most versatile aircraft flying, it is capable of carrying out search and rescue work, air ambulance duties, reconnaissance and passenger and freight transport. It can be quickly converted to undertake any of these roles.
Used as an "aerial crane" the aircraft can fly bulky objects of up to 100 lb in weight slung from strong points beneath the fuselage.
Over a hundred Sycamores have now been built and delivered, and have logged some 32,000 flying hours in a dozen different countries, under widely varying climatic conditions. Sycamore are in service with the Royal Air Force, the British Army, the Royal Australian Navy and Air Force, British European Airways, the Belgian Air Force and Australian National Airways."
