RELEASE MAY 31, 1961
DREAM COME TRUE. Ten years of effort by San Francisco and Oakland to obtain helicopter passenger service will be realized June 1 when the new San Francisco & Oakland Helicopter Airlines inaugurates scheduled passenger service. Two turbine-powered Sikorsky S-62 amphibious helicopters, one of which is shown in flight, have been obtained by the line. They will cruise at 100 miles per hour. The boat hull of the S-62 is an important factor in the San Francisco Bay operation where most of the routes are over water.
