Lt. Col. Ahmet Okur, Turkish Army, meets three students at the Turkish Army Aviation School at Güvercinlik Army Air Base. The Aviation Training School utilizes a large number of Agusta-Bell AB206Rs (in background) for initial pilot training. On average, the Turkish Army has a demand for about 110 new pilots each year. When this image was taken (mid-2016), some 184 aviators were training at the Army Aviation School, participating in various courses, with the first students on the T129 “ATAK” helicopter having just graduated. These pilots were the first to be trained by the Army Aviation Training School. From Vertiflite, March/April 2017 (page 33).
