First flight of the UH-60V Black Hawk Engineering Development Model (EDM), developed by the US Army, Jan. 19, 2017 in Meridianville, Alabama. The Utility Helicopter Project Office took the engineering development model through a roughly hour-long flight that included take-off and landing, hovering, track and balance, and a brief local area flight. The UH-60V is being designed to update existing UH-60L analog architecture with a digital infrastructure and glass cockpit to address evolving interoperability and survivability requirements.
