According to its manufacturer (Boeing Vertol Company), this was the first fiberglass rotor blade assembled in the U.S. Intended for use on U.S. Navy CH-46 Sea Knights, the blade had a fiberglass epoxy spar, a titanium/nickel leading edge and a fiberglass/nomex aft fairing.
