Eurocopter EC-135FHS at ILA 2004 (Internationale Luft- und Raumfahrtausstellung, or International Aerospace Exhibition and Conferences, commonly known as the Berlin Airshow. Known as the "flying helicopter simulator," the EC-135FHS is controlled by a "fly by light" system. This system gives the ability to simulate the flight characteristics of other helicopters, even those that are still in the design stage. This system, where control signals are transmitted by light via fiber optic cables, allows high bandwidth, low weight and high reliability, as it is nearly immune against electromagnetic radiation.
