A Cessna L-19 powered by the Boeing 502-108 engine was the world's first turboprop-powered light aircraft in 1952. The Boeing 502 engine was used in 1951 to power the Kaman K-225 helicopter to be the world's first turboshaft-powered helicopter in 1951. From Vertiflite (AHS Newsletter) Nov 1960.
