The Dr. Alexander Klemin Award recipient this year was Darryl Toni from Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company. Toni was recognized for his contributions to areas of structural analysis and rotorcraft structural integrity for vertical flight aircraft. The structural design methodology which Toni developed resulted in a unified design approach, completing a comprehensive array of ground test strength demonstrations with an unprecedented level of success. His software is used by roughly 1,000 engineers across the world, including Sikorsky / Lockheed Martin employees, engineering out-source personnel, as well as suppliers and customers for the structural design and validation of components used in the current Sikorsky product line. Toni is also the inventor or co-inventor on 16 patents. In photo, Tomasz Krysinski is seen presenting the award certificate to Darryl (right).
