Arthur M. Young in forward flight in the Model 49. Young built the machine to experiment with coaxial configurations, with flapping rotors in close proximity with each other. Young was the only person to every fly the Model 49. Initial flight testing proved successful in ground handling, hovering and forward speed attaining 70 mph in forward flight.
