
The Arado Ar 234 B Blitz (Lightning) was the world's first operational jet bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. It was developed by Germany in World War II. It is on display at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum (NASM) Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia. The photo was taken on Sept. 1, 2025, by Mike Hirschberg.
