The Wisk Aero 3rd Generation demonstrator (N102XZ) was originally known as the Zee.Aero Z-P2 and also called the Proof of Concept (POC) and MUTT. The aircraft was built in 2015 and first took flight in early 2016, with 70 test flights in its lifetime. In 2017, it became the first piloted eVTOL aircraft to transition from hovering flight to wingborne flight and back. The aircraft was flown by four different pilots during the test program: Aaron Rouland, Bill Shoemaker, Dave Morss and RJ Schreiner. The photo was taken on Sept. 1, 2025, at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum (NASM) Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, by Mike Hirschberg. CC BY-SA 4.0
