The Boeing CV2 Cargo Air Vehicle (CAV) was dressed up like a Star Wars X-Wing. This CAV was the first remotely piloted large eVTOL aircraft to be flown in support of a commercial operation in the US. For this flight, Boeing partnered with Walt Disney Imagineering Research & Development to mount X-wing “body shells” on two CAVs for the opening events of the "Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge" attraction at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. It's part of the permanent collection and went on display in May 2025. The photo was taken on Sept. 1, 2025, at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum (NASM) Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, by Mike Hirschberg. CC BY-SA 4.0
